Marx Mechanical O27 Wind-Up Toy Tinplate Trains

When the weather takes a turn for the worse, I head inside to work on my

other train hobby.  Marx made wind-up trains from the mid 1930's until the

mid 1970's.  Here are a few trains from my collection....

Marx Mercury "Firefly"

I repainted this locomotive to represent the Frisco Firefly.

Originally articulated, I modified it to use the "Coffin" tender.

Black Marx Mercury

Restored from a rusty shell and a broken motor from a Commodore Vanderbilt.

Tender is an original Marx 551 "Coffin".

Black Marx Commodore Vanderbilt

This locomotive has a reversable wind-up motor.

This locomotive came with the "Wedge" tender.

Still a tin body, but with newer cast drivers and back to a coffin tender.
